The annual Salute to Veterans Parade, presented by American Airlines, will kick off at 11:00am on Saturday, November 10, 2018, on North Tryon Street in Charlotte.
“This year’s parade is already lining up to be a patriotic and special event,” said Janene McGee, chairman of the Salute to Veterans Parade. “Every year this parade gets larger and more relevant to veterans and supporters of veterans across the Carolinas.”
In 2016, more than 2,000 participants participated in the parade, from active military units to antique cars to veteran’s organizations to the Sons of the American Revolution, our country’s original veterans.
“One of the keys to building a successful parade event is having a variety of units participate each year,” adds McGee. “We have such a large geographical area to draw participants from that we really do touch a wide variety of people’s interests for people of all ages.”
The parade route is approximately 1 mile from North Tryon Street to South Tryon Street, directly through the famous intersection of Trade and Tryon. “There are so many places for people to catch the parade,” said McGee. “And there is so much parking available along the route in Uptown.”
