Patriotic Art Exhibition July 1st-8th in Founders Hall
When: Monday, July 1, 2024 - Monday, July 8, 2024
THE PATRIOTIC THEME FOR THE SPRING 2024 COMPETITION IS:
RESPECT
AS HIGHLIGHTED BY THE NELSON MANDELA QUOTE...
"FOR TO BE FREE IS NOT MERELY TO CAST OFF ONE'S CHAINS, BUT TO LIVE IN A WAY THAT RESPECTS AND ENHANCES THE FREEDOM OF OTHERS."
Entry Rules:
Entries must interpret the theme from a patriotic perspective, be two dimensional and no larger than 18" x 24" and may include water-color, pastel, oil, acrylic, charcoal, pen and ink, pencil, collage, and ORIGINAL photography or digital painting*. Submit the art in the best format to protect it for exhibition -- i.e. single board mounting or matting; photography/digital painting can also be submitted in a protective sleeve. No framed/rolled artwork entries, only simple flat submissions ready for exhibition.
*Due to an overwhelming interest in submitting digital artwork for the scholarship program, we have decided to allow submissions of this type to be entered as long as they are accompanied with verification of originality from a teacher or guidance counselor. A high-quality printed copy must be included for your submission. Please note that any plagiarized submissions will be immediately removed from consideration and entrants banned from future submissions. In the future, we will continue to explore how this medium can be part of the competition so that we can be inclusive of all forms of art.
